For the week from Jan. 15-21, women’s tennis player Georgie Walker was named the General Shale Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week. Walker, a junior, received the honor based on competition across all sports that given week.
In that week, Walker went 3-0 in singles play, and 2-1 in doubles play with teammates Danni Vines and MaryAnn Rompf.
Overall, the team is 3-3 on the season, with complete sweeps against both Davidson College and the University of South Carolina – Upstate. Recently, the Lady Paladins defeated Michigan State in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, 4-3. The team also defeated Lipscomb and University of Louisville 6-1.
The Paladins will play at home on Friday, Feb. 7 against Middle Tennessee, as well as on Sunday, Feb. 9 against Marshall University and Emmanuel College.
