As previously reported in The Horse, Furman University has been using Bain & Company, a leading Financial Consulting Firm to help make financial decisions for the university.
From this project and due to financial difficulties, Furman University has decided to collect sponsors for several things on campus.
This year, Convocation was sponsored by Raid Shadow Legends, a mobile game. During Convocation, President Elizabeth Davis began her speech and had two ad breaks for Raid Shadow Legends during her talk. She also asked all students to download the app and to “Use Code ‘LizzyD’ for 10 XP Brews.”
The Library Cafe aka. “Lib Cafe” is sponsored by TikTok famous and every white girl’s favorite local coffee shop, Daydrinkers.
President Davis said, “I hope all students will be able to enjoy The Library Cafe Presented by Daydrinkers. I think students will be able to enjoy the mid coffee but great vibes that Daydrinkers will bring to campus as a sponsor.”
Furman’s Dining Hall will now only serve food from Chili’s due to its brand new sponsorship with the popular chain restaurant.
Another facility on campus that has gained a sponsor is the Trone Center for Mental Fitness. It is now sponsored by BetterHelp, an online website to get therapy and counseling. Because of this sponsorship, students will be ghosted if they request to use any therapist other than one from BetterHelp.
HAVOC, the week put on by FUSAB where people panhandle to their classmates, is also all sponsored this year too. Each HAVOC contestant is dressed as the company’s mascot. “I really wanted to do HAVOC to avoid taking showers but because of the theme this year, FUSAB forced me to dress up like Little Debbie.” said Beau Toxx ‘26, Computer Science Major.
The beard and ball razor brand Manscaped has stepped up to become a sponsor for the Interfraternity Council. The only stipulation of the sponsor is that at every fraternity party there must be a break in the bad music for the fraternity’s President to thank Manscaped for sponsoring IFC.
Furman Singers has been sponsored by the hit Hulu Reality show, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” and has been renamed to “Furman Swingers.”
One other student organization has gotten a sponsorship. The Young Democratic Socialists of America have gained sponsorship from The Kremlin. YDSA has not submitted a comment to The Horse.
HelloFresh has sponsored men’s soccer star Beck Dean in his quest to help people get ripped.
Other sponsors include Raycon Earbuds, Squarespace, and the NFL.
